# Staking on DEXRise

DEXRise staking lets you put your tokens to work and earn rewards — with full flexibility over which assets you stake. Pools can be built from **any two currencies**, whether they are **different currencies or of the same type**, giving projects and users a wide range of pool designs.

All staking activity runs through a dedicated [Staking Panel](#the-staking-panel) and settles **directly on-chain**, with full transparency and security.

## Key characteristics

| Feature              | Details                                                                                                                                                                       |
| -------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Pool composition** | Any two currencies — different currencies or the same currency on both sides |
| **Contract types**   | Two staking models: [Flexible](/dexrise-documentation/staking/staking-types.md#flexible-staking) and [Locked](/dexrise-documentation/staking/staking-types.md#locked-staking) |
| **Reward model**     | [APR-based](/dexrise-documentation/staking/apr-mechanics.md) — calculated over a full 365-day year, with simple (non-compounded) interest                                     |
| **Execution** | Stake, withdraw and claim operations settle directly on-chain |

## The Staking Panel

The Staking Panel is designed to be simple and easy to use — the three core actions of staking are each a **one-click operation**:

| Action       | What it does                                                                  |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Deposit** | Stake your tokens into the pool |
| **Withdraw** | Pull your deposit out of the pool — availability depends on the contract type |
| **Claim** | Collect your accumulated rewards at any time |

## Choosing a contract type

Every staking pool runs on one of two contract types, and the difference comes down to how the deposit is treated:

* [**Flexible**](/dexrise-documentation/staking/staking-types.md#flexible-staking) — a flexible-term contract: withdraw your deposit plus rewards **at any time**, with no restrictions.
* [**Locked**](/dexrise-documentation/staking/staking-types.md#locked-staking) — a fixed-term contract: the deposit stays in the pool until the staking period fully ends, while **rewards remain claimable at any time** or can be redeposited.

{% hint style="info" %}
Rewards are calculated as [simple interest at a stated APR](/dexrise-documentation/staking/apr-mechanics.md) — the rate is annualized over 365 full days, and rewards are computed on your deposited amount only, without compounding.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://dexrise.gitbook.io/dexrise-documentation/staking/overview.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
